Multi-cell High power batteries are mainly adopted in power tool, ESS kind of non-3C or wearable applications. They require high durability and reliability to face with high voltage and extreme current situation. The HY2514 is a protection IC for single-cell lithium-ion/lithium polymer rechargeable battery which can be cascaded as the multi-cell configuration to perform the voltage monitoring and cell balancing functions. Together with single HY2512, which could provide the overcurrent and short circuit protection, the solution can meet the full battery protection with minimized part count and simplified protection board requirements.
